This fudgy brownie pie is super rich and so very chocolaty that it will satisfy even die hard chocolate fans. Truly, it is so good that it is almost too good to be true. It’s basically two desserts in one because you get a homemade brownie baked straight into a flaky pie crust…so good!
1 (9”) pie crust
2 c. sugar
1 1/3 c. flour
1 c. shortening
1 c. cocoa
4 eggs
2 T. milk
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
Heat up your oven to 350 degrees. Mix together all the ingredients, except for the pie crust of course. Pour the batter into the pie crust and bake for 32-44 minutes.
Bake time depends on how done you like your brownies. I love them to be a bit gooey in the center so I don’t cook them as long. If you want them more done, cook for almost 45 minutes. Allow the pie to cool for about 10-15 minutes before serving.
Great on its own or top with some homemade whipped cream. So good!
If you prefer to use a "regular" pie crust, be sure to use my Extra Flaky Never-Fail Pie Crust.
This recipe is so rich that it is up there equal in richness to my pumpkin supreme pie or my chocolate chip pie. Or if you love chocolate and want something a bit lighter try out my Chocolate Mousse Pie.
