DIY Creole Seasoning Mix Recipe

It is really easy to make your own Creole seasoning mix from the comfort of your own home.  Creole seasoning is fairly spicy but is quite delicious on so many foods.

1/3 c. paprika

¼ c. garlic powder

2 T. pepper

2 T. onion powder

1 T. thyme

1 T. oregano

1 T. basil

1 T. salt

2 tsp. cayenne pepper

In a small bowl, combine all the ingredients.  Store in an airtight container for up to 3 months.

This seasoning mix is extremely versatile.  It can be used in Jambalaya or gumbo.  It also goes great with rice, meats, soups, stews, burgers or even on a salad.  I also use it as a dry rub on meat or seafood because it gives them such a flavor boost.
