The Best & Easiest Hot Fudge Sauce Recipe

This hot fudge sauce is so rich, smooth and decadent.  It takes just a few ingredients, all which you probably already have in your pantry and takes just about 10 minutes or so to whip up.  If you have never made your own hot fudge, you have to give it a try.  It tastes amazing and you’ll never want to buy a jar of hot fudge again.  The store bought variety pales in comparison. And while we are talking about toppings, be sure to check out my recipe for caramel sauce and homemade whipped cream too.

In a medium sauce pan, over medium-high heat, combine the chocolate chips, sugar, evaporated milk and butter together.  Cook and stir until the chocolate chips and butter have completely melted (about 5-6 minutes).

Let the mixture come to a very light boil and then remove the pan from the stove and stir in the vanilla.  Allow the sauce to cool off for 5-7 minutes.  It should thicken as it cools.

Store the hot fudge sauce in a canning jar with the lid in the refrigerator.  It can be stored for up to a month but I doubt it will last that long.  To heat up the sauce, heat it up in the microwave in 30 second intervals until it is as warm as you desire.

It tastes great on my homemade ice cream, on my hot fudge cake, on a piece of pie or anywhere else you can imagine.

Hope you all have a wonderful Christmas Eve!
