Moist Chocolate Buttermilk Quick Bread Recipe

This is a rich tasty bread that is perfect for breakfast, a coffee break, an after school snack or for dessert.  Since it is a quick bread, it is so easy to make.  No kneading, no yeast, no rise time.  Just mix all the ingredients together and bake it.

  • 1 ¾ c. flour
  • 1 c. buttermilk
  • 1 c. chocolate chips
  • 1 c. sugar
  • ½ c. cocoa powder
  • ½ c. butter, softened
  • 2 lg. eggs
  • 1 tsp. honey, optional
  • ½ tsp. baking powder
  • ½ tsp. baking soda
  • ½ tsp. salt

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.  Prepare a large loaf pan by greasing the bottoms and sides well.  Set aside.

As stated previously, mix all the ingredients together and pour into the bread pan.  Bake for 55-60 minutes or until a toothpick stuck into the middle comes out clean.
