Air Fryer Meatloaf

This is an easy recipe to get a delicious meatloaf in an hour with very little work.  We love our air fryer.  We love experimenting with cooking many different foods in our air fryer and have not found a downside to using the air fryer yet.  Using an air fryer makes life easier and this meatloaf turns out super moist and yummy!

You can use whatever meatloaf recipe you like or you can just use mine.  If you want to just make a one pound meatloaf, then cut the ingredients listed below in half and cook on 390-400 degrees for about 30 minutes.  I always make a 2 pound meatloaf because we love to eat it as leftovers.  A 2 pound meatloaf cooks at the same temperature (390-400 degrees) but for 45 minutes.

  • 2 lbs. ground beef
  • 1 1/2 c. instant oats
  • 1/2 c. ketchup
  • 2 eggs, lightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 T. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 T. BBQ sauce
  • 1 1/2 tsp. dehydrated onion
  • 1 tsp. minced garlic
  • 1 tsp. soy sauce
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper

For the glaze:

Combine all the ingredients of the meatloaf together in a large bowl.  Mix with clean hands to get everything well combined.  Form into a loaf.

Preheat your air fryer to 390 degrees. Lay a piece of foil on your grill tray and place the meatloaf onto the foil.  Cook for 40 minutes.  Check on your meatloaf about every 10 minutes to be sure the top does not get too brown.  If that starts to happen, just lightly cover the top of the meatloaf with another piece of foil.

As your meatloaf cooks, prepare the glaze by combining the 2 ingredients in a small bowl.  When the meatloaf has cooked for 40 minutes, spoon the glaze over the meatloaf and cook the meatloaf another 5-10 minutes more.  Check to see if your meatloaf is cooked throughout by inserting a cooking thermometer into the center of the meatloaf.  Ground beef should reach a temperature of 165 degrees.

Remove the meatloaf from the air fryer and allow it to rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.  Letting the meatloaf rest just a bit keeps the meatloaf from falling apart.
