Chinese Fried Pork Dumplings Recipe

If you are craving pork dumplings, fill your craving by making them in the comfort of your home. They are easy to make and turn out plump, chewy and so tasty.  They are filled with tender pork that has been flavored with ginger, onions and soy sauce.  So irresistible that you won’t be able to eat just one!

For the Dumplings:

·        40 dumpling wrappers

·        1 lb.  ground pork

·        3 c. finely shredded cabbage

·        1-1 ½ c. water

·        4 green onions, finely chopped (white and green parts)

·        1 beaten egg

·        1 T. soy sauce

·        1 T. minced ginger

·        2 tsp. sesame oil

·        2 tsp. sugar

·        1 ½ tsp. minced garlic

·        ½ tsp. salt

·        ½ tsp. pepper

·        Vegetable oil or peanut oil for frying

For the Dipping Sauce:

·        1 c. soy sauce

·        2 tsp. rice wine vinegar

·        ½ tsp. lemon juice

Combine all the ingredients of the dumplings together, except for the dumpling wrappers and the oil.  Now take about 1 tablespoon of the filling and put into the center of each dumpling wrapper.  Lightly rub the edges of the wrapper with water and fold the dumpling over the filling and pinch the edges closed to form little pleats.  Repeat for the rest of each dumpling.

Heat up the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.  Once the oil is hot, place a few dumplings into the skillet and cook until lightly browned.  Once all the dumplings have been fried, put about ½ cup of water into the skillet and then put all the dumplings back into the skillet, cover the skillet with a lid, turn the heat to low and allow the dumplings to simmer.  Cook for 5-7 minutes or until the water has evaporated and the dumplings are cooked through.  Remove and place on a paper-towel lined plate. Serve and enjoy.

To make the dipping sauce, combine the ingredients together, stir well and it is ready to go.
