Make dessert quick, easy, and incredibly delicious with this 5 ingredient dessert. When it comes to combining fruit and chocolate together, chocolate and cherries go so well together.
Double Chocolate Cherry Dump Cake
2 cans (15 oz.) cherry pie filling
1 box Devil's food cake mix
1 c. chocolate chips
1 c. chocolate chips
1 stick butter, melted
1 tsp. almond extract
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9" x13" cake pan with cooking spray.
Pour your pie filling into a bowl and stir in the almond extract. Stir well. Pour the pie filling into your cake pan.
Sprinkle on the chocolate chips, now sprinkle the cake mix evenly over the top.
Slowly pour the butter over the top, it won't cover all of the cake but try to get it over all of the cake as best as you can.
Bake for about 35 minutes, and also be sure the fruit mixture is bubbly around the edges of the pan. It is a good indicator when it is about done.
If you still have dry patches of cake mix once your cake has baked for about 30 minutes, simply stir those parts into the cake. Place back into the oven for 5 minutes.
We even made this while we were out camping. Dump into a sprayed Dutch oven and sit it by the edge of the camp fire. Soooo good!
Other great dump cakes that I make include: Cherry dump cake, crockpot apple dump cake, and my pumpkin pie dump cake.
