Chocolate Chip Drop Biscuits

We do a lot of freezer cooking at our house and one thing we make EVERY week is Chocolate Chip Drop Biscuits.  Our family loves them for breakfast and hope your family will too.

Chocolate Chip Drop Biscuits

 3 c. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. butter
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 bag or 1 c. chocolate chips
1 1/2 T. baking powder
3/4 tsp. salt

In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and the salt.  Stir in the margarine.  Mixture should be crumbly.  Stir in the chocolate chips.  Add the milk, a little at a time, just until the dough forms.

Drop by spoonfuls on a cookie sheet.  Bake at 425 degrees for 12 minutes.

We eat these fresh from the oven and then we throw the rest into a baggie and freeze them for future breakfasts!  Reheat 2 at a time in the microwave (about 25 seconds).  Great for breakfast or a quick pick-me-up!

Makes 2 dozen.

Some of my other biscuit recipes you may like include:  Easy & tender butter dip biscuits, soft and light biscuits, or my chocolate chip biscuits.  Yum!

  11. Hi Melody:)

I tried your chocolate chip drop biscuits, but I used some Bisquick that I had an over abundance of and they turned out great...like velvet, and my family loved them.I just added some milk to 3 cups of the mix until it was a good consistency, and added chocolate chips and stirred them up and popped them in the oven. I also baked them a little slower, at 350 degrees since my oven tends to cook a little warmer. I fixed them for breakfast Saturday morning, and we had them right out of the oven. I put the leftovers in a container and we ate them for breakfast this morning before getting ready for church(Sunday). Thanks for another great recipe! I am looking forward to trying your tater tot casserole, meatloaf, and homemade bread recipes. There will be some good eating this week:)

    1. Teresa, sorry in the delay. It takes 1/2-1 c. of milk. It needs to be a fairly stiff batter. I added it into the ingredient list above.
