Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix is very easy to make. More than likely, you have everything in your pantry right now to make this today. I mean, why buy a store brand mix when you can make this yourself without all the preservatives and junk the store-brand kind have in them.
The Very Best Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix
1 T. dehydrated onion
1 T. paprika
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. chili powder
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1/4 tsp. celery seed
Mix all ingredients together and use immediately or store in a small mason jar or baggie.
The above mix will make enough to use with one pound of meat to make sloppy joes. You can easily double or triple the recipe if so desired.
To make sloppy joes, brown 1 pound of ground beef. Drain the fat, then add in 1 cup of ketchup, 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce, and 1/2 cup of water and the seasoning mix. Turn the stove onto medium and heat until the mixture is hot. Simmer for about 10 minutes and then serve and enjoy.
If you prepare a big batch of the mix (double or tripled the recipe), use 1/3 cup of the seasoning per pound of meat.
