Flat & Chewy Chocolate Chip Cookies

I love Chocolate Chip Cookies.  I have several different recipes for Chocolate Chip Cookies, ranging from thick & soft, to thick and buttery, rounded gooey cookie, and even a peanut butter & chocolate chip cookie recipe.  I generally prefer a nice and thick cookie but today I am craving a chewy flat cookie so I made them.

3/4 c. butter, softened
1/2 c. sugar

Combine the flour, cornstarch, baking soda and salt together in a large bowl.  In another bowl, cream together the butter in with both sugars.  Beat in the vanilla and the eggs.  Mix until it is light and creamy.  Now combine this mixture in with the dry ingredients.  Once it is all mixed up good, stir in all of the chocolate chips. Refrigerate the dough for 1 hour.

Once an hour as passed,  preheat your oven to 325 degrees.  Drop the dough by spoonfuls onto a cookie sheet.  Bake for 16 minutes.  Remove and allow the cookies to cool on the pan for 2-3 minutes.  Remove and enjoy.

     Makes 3 dozen.

  1. Melody, These sound absolutely delicious. I don't think I've ever made cookies with cornstarch, In fact I know I haven't, cause for me to handle cornstarch is right up there with fingernails on a chalkboard. Yep, I'm of that generation to know what that sounds like first hand! LOL. Before it came in a plastic container, and was packaged in a box, I had my kids handle it..then I would transfer it to a jar..and dump it into the measuring spoon or cup..tee hee.. Wanna take a moment to tell you how much I enjoy your blog! Have a blessed day, Karla. living the homestead life in IL
