Old Fashioned Rice Pudding

      Rice pudding is creamy, sweet, delicious and just perfect.  It really is the ultimate comfort food.  My recipe adds the classic combination of cinnamon and raisin to make the classic recipe even better.  It has the perfect texture together with the soft rice and chewy raisins, so follow my recipe and whip you up this old time favorite dessert today!

Old Fashioned Rice Pudding
 4 c. milk
1 1/2 c. rice
2/3 c. sugar 
1/2 c. raisins
1 T. butter
2 tsp. vanilla
2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt
     Place the milk, rice, and salt into a medium sized pot.  Turn the heat to medium and bring to a simmer then turn to low; stirring occasionally.

     Allow it to cook until the rice is tender.  It should take about 10-15 minutes, depending on your stove.

      Once the rice is done, stir in the butter, raisins & spices.  this can be eaten hot or chilled.  It's delicious either way.

Makes 4 servings.  And each serving contains 67 carbs.
