2 3/4 c. flour 1 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. sugar 1/2 c. shortening
2 large eggs 1 stick softened butter
1/2 bag semi-sweet chocolate chips 1/2 bag of milk chocolate chips
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preheat your oven to 375. In a large bowl, beat together the shortening and butter. Mix in the sugars, salt and baking soda until just combined. Now add in the eggs and vanilla and mix well. Stir in all other ingredients except for the chocolate chips. Once the dough is mixed well, fold in the chocolate chips. You can use just one bag of chocolate chips but mixing the two kinds of chips really does make a huge difference on the taste.
|This is the consistency of the dough after you mix it.|
Spray your cookie sheet(s) with cooking spray and then drop the dough by spoonfuls onto the pan.
Bake for 8 1/2 minutes. Allow the cookies to cool for 2-3 minutes before removing from the pan. The cookies may look pale and underdone when you remove them but will finish cooking the last little bit needed on the pan.
