These bars are a lot like a chocolate chip cookie but "gooey-er". They are so rich and yummy that you just can't eat just one. They are simple to make and turn out perfectly each and every time. It is our go-to dessert for company or for pot-lucks. It is requested often and one taste and you will see why!
Chocolate Chip Cookie Bars
2 cups flour
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
2 sticks butter, softened
2 large eggs
1 bag chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet)
1 T. vanilla
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Spray a 9"x13" cake pan with cooking spray.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients (except the chocolate chips) and mix well. Gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Pour the batter into the pan and spread out evenly.
Bake for 26 minutes. It is done with the edges are wrinkled and the middle is pale looking. It may look underdone but it is really good this way.
Now, cut into bars and serve. Warm with a glass of milk is divine.
