When I was trying to figure out how I should act, I did not look to the world, I looked to God. I wanted to know how God expected me to act, look and dress. Have I always succeeded? No, but I do ask for forgiveness and try to do better. I am still learning and still trying to please my Lord.
There are many passages in the Bible that give direction on how a woman should behave. Are they politically correct? No but that is not my concern. God expects a woman to be submissive to her husband (Ephesians 5:22-24). I am a strong woman and this was at first a challenge but I love my Lord and want to please him and not the world. I do not cower in the corner but I do listen and respect my husband's wishes.
Should I dress provocatively? No. I try to dress for the occasion but never in a way to cause embarrassment to myself or my family (I Timothy 2:9). I do wear make-up but I wear it modestly to enhance my natural looks.
The book of Titus lists the duties of a Christian woman. A lot of Christian woman agree that we should strive to be Titus 2:5 women. Titus 2:5 (NKJV) reads "to be discreet, chaste, homemakers, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God may not be blasphemed".
Are you striving to be a Titus 2:5 woman? Do you need prayers? I am always willing to pray for you and I ask for you to pray for me too.
