Our Christmas Tree
One of the many blessings of living in the country is being able to go out onto the property where you live and cutting down a tree for Christmas. So, we set out walking around for a half hour trying to find the "perfect" tree. Now, before we go much further, let me state, our idea of perfect and the world's idea of a perfect tree are NOT the same. I'm more like the Charlie Brown gang on their choice of a tree for Christmas. We have some really gorgeous trees out here but they are really beautiful and I want to enjoy them for years and not just for a few weeks. We look for trees that have potential but are small and usually misshaped in some areas. Our tree we chose this year had some dead branches on the bottom and one side was super flat but after each one of us looked it over, we knew it was the tree for us this year.

It doesn't look so bad but I did get the angle just right on the tree so you miss the flat back but I say "who cares!" that part is facing the wall and no one will see it and I checked with the wall and it said it was fine. ;-)

Okay, so why are you not seeing the tree fully decorated? Well, there is a perfectly good reason why and I'll tell ya! It is a common problem when you have a tiny, non-perfect tree. The poor thing was so flimsy that when we just put on the garland it began to sag and droop. Once we put on a few ornaments there are big gaps and droopy limbs, etc. Do we mind. Nah! It's our family 2013 Christmas tree and we love it! :-D
Funny thing, the trunk was so small we couldn't get the tree stand to support it so we filled the stand up with Chicken scratch and it worked beautiful. Yes, we truly are COUNTRIFIED HICKS!!!!
