Bible Verses Top 10 List

Bible, Holy bible, John 3:16, Bible Top 10, Favorite bible verses, Top 10 list, Christian blog
Brandon reading his Bible.

So, I was talking to a friend the other day about praying and the Bible.  I always assumed that everyone had the same Bible verses that were like their “top 10”.  You know, the top 10 Bible verses you have memorized.  Anyway, after discussing this with others, it seems most people (at least that I can find) have broadly different verses that they find most important.
I guess most important is not the right word.  All words in the Bible are important but I guess I mean what verses speak to each individual.  Everyone had John 3:16 (For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.) as their number one pick or at least in their list.
What I want to know is what verses are on your list?  Sure you may not have them listed out or have ever thought about it but I bet if someone asked you to name the most relevant, or you favorite verses, you would know.  So, please, share with me and my readers.  What verses would be on your top 10?  Got more, then what would be on your top 20, 30, 40, 50….(you get the idea!).

My Top Picks:

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

Matthew 7:7
Ask and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock and it will be opened to you.

Matthew 6:33
Seek ye first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.  In all thy ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths.

Philippians 4:13
I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me.

Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

John 14:6
Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life.  No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Ephesians 2:8
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves; it is a gift from God.

The Beatitudes:  Matthew 5:3-10
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be filled.
Blessed are the merciful, for they shall obtain mercy.
Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God.
Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness'sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

The Lord's Prayer:  Matthew 6:9-13
Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive our debts as we forgive our debtors.
Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil for Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever.  Amen.

1 Corinthians 13:4-13
Love is patient, love is kind.  It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.  It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.  Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.  It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.  Love never fails.  But where there are prophesies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.  For we know in part and we prophesy in part, but when perfection comes, the imperfect disappears.  When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child.  When I became a man, I put childish ways behind me.  Now we see but a poor reflection in a mirror; then we shall see face-to-face.  Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.  And now these three remain: faith, hope and love.  But the greatest of these is love.

Psalm 23
The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.  He maketh me to lie down in green pastures, He leadeth me beside the still waters, He restoreth my soul.  He guides me in the paths of righteousness for His name's sake.  Though I walk through the shadow of valley of death, I shall not fear, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.  You prepareth a table before me in the presence of mine enemies.  You annointeth my head with oil; my cup runneth over.  Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.
